Veterans Homecoming Week
Veterans Homecoming in Branson is a week-long event with special events, activities, shows, and recognition for all Veterans and active military, many of which are free. For more information, check visit the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber website or Branson Veteran Events. Veterans Week overlaps with the beginning of Ozark Mountain Christmas so be sure to check that portion of the calendar for additional shows and special events as well.

Reveille and Retreat, Veterans Registry, Veterans Village and Tactical Operation Center at Factory Merchants Branson. Free Day Room 9am-6pm with Refreshments and snacks for Veterans and active military. Visit with buddies, relax, or bring acoustic instruments and jam with other vets.

Patriotic Welcome to Veterans Week with local entertainers at Branson Star Theatre. This is a Free event at 2:00 pm

Nov 5-10 Commemorative Collectors Button - The first Veterans Homecoming Week button will be available at Branson Mall, 9 am - 3 pm. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Wounded Warriors Project. Limited supply; $5 donation.
Nov 5 - 6 General Tommy Franks Traveling Road Show and Classroom will be at Branson Mall. Tour this mobile museum showcasing cultural, social, and geographic items and information from 24 Middle East countries.

Ozark Mountain Christmas

November and December are Branson's 5th Season - Ozark Mountain Christmas! Most entertainment venues present a Christmas show or include holiday music in their program. The area is decorated with literally MILLIONS of lights. Check the Packages & Specials page for special offers to our guests.

Nov 1 - Dec 31 Branson Area Festival of Lights Drive-Through Display - One-mile drive along a path illuminated with more than 175 displays. Located off Shepherd of the Hills Expressway and Roark Valley Road.  $10 for autos
Nov 1 - Dec 31 Shepherd of the Hills Trail of Lights - Drive-thru animation display that will carry you into the very heart of Christmas. The Trail winds through the historic 160-acre homestead into a holiday wonderland. Each display has its own theme, from fantasy to religious, to patriotic; life-size (or larger than life) three-dimensional characters have their own housing; festive holiday music themed to each scene. The Trail includes millions of Christmas lights with every building on park illuminated, hundreds of lighted displays as well as animated scenes. As the grand finale, visitors are invited to stop by Inspiration Tower and ride a glass elevator up 230’ for a Santa’s-eye-view of the lights from above. Nov 1 - Dec 31 Christmas on the Trail Chuckwagon Dinner Show celebrates Christmas cowboy-style. Enjoy a hearty dinner from the chuckwagon then sing along with favorite carols. Nov 5 - Dec 30 Olde Time Christmas Festival at Silver Dollar City - Over 4 million lights, a 5-story Special Effects Christmas Tree, Holiday Light Parade twice each evening, a Living Nativity, Frosty, Santa, and the award-winning production "A Dickens' Christmas Carol".
Nov 10 - Dec 30 "Who Killed Mr Scrooge?" Ozark Murder Mysteries presents a modern-day spoof of a traditional holiday story. With so many people hating Scrooge, it will take some clever sleuthing by the audience and the help of three ghosts to figure out "whodunit". Circle B Supper Theater in Branson.

Dec 2-3 Glen Campbell Goodbye Tour with Restless Heart - Two shows only; Tri-Lakes Center in Branson
Dec 4 63rd Annual Adoration Parade & Lighting Ceremony in Historic Downtown Branson, held annually the first Sunday in December since 1948 with the theme of "Keep Christ in Christmas". This is an evening parade with lighted floats and holiday music.

New Year's Eve and New Year's Day

Several Branson shows and attractions are open for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Additional listings will be added as schedules become available.

2012 and Beyond

Jan & Feb 2012

Visit Branson in January and February for Hot Winter Fun. Weather is generally mild with daytime temperatures often in the 50's. It's a perfect time to recover from hectic holidays, shop for after-Christmas bargains, be the first to see Branson's 2012 entertainment lineup, or use those Christmas Bed & Breakfast gift certificates. The pace is slower and traffic is light but there is still plenty to see and do. Check back later for information on special events and activities for Hot Winter Fun.

Feb 4-5, 2012 NICA (National Ice Carving Association) U.S. Nationals - This first-time-in-Branson event is a preliminary for competitors vying for a chance to compete in Sochi, Russia, host city for the XXII Olympic Winter Games in 2014. 
Mar 29 - 31, 2012 1st Annual "Branson Salutes Vietnam Veterans" to commemorate March 30 as the National "Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day"
August 9-11, 2012 Shepherd of the Hills Super Summer Cruise - this annual event boasts over 500 cars on display at the Show 'n' Shine and a midnight cruise on Shepherd of the Hills Expressway
